Wilmington is a small village that is now solely in the Parish of Widworthy, Devon.
However, before 1989 the village was in the Parishes of Widworthy and Offwell
It has approximately 157 houses and 250 residents and is mentioned in The Doomsday book!
The records are kept in a virtual Parish Chest on home computers and shared by Email between members.
At the heart of the virtual Parish Chest is a database known as:-
The Wilmington Time Team Muster.
This list currently has about 7300 entries detailing the vital records and activities of about 1250 families living in the two parishes between 1813 and the present day.
The Muster list is derived from a number of primary sources of information. Researchers seeking information should note the details of these sources as the Time Team Muster is only an extracted secondary source that assists rapid identification of the original material. The primary source should always be examined if there is any doubt.
The full range of extracted information is now available on the website and the OPC cannot provide further information on individual families outside the range of records listed. Suggested further sources are listed on the sources page and they should be approached directly and not through the OPC/Archivist
